Tonight will see new host Patrick Kielty’s first season of The Late Late Show come to an end.

Despite the significant milestone, only one guest has been revealed as part of the finale’s line-up.

Marking 30 years since the first iconic performance of Riverdance, Michael Flatley is set to appear on the chat show to discuss the 1994 Eurovision interval act.

Mr Flatley who danced with Jean Butler during the show, revealed last month that his cancer was in remission after he had undergone surgery for “an aggressive form of cancer” early last year.

The Eurovision theme will continue on the flagship programme, when the show will go live to Malmo to speak to Irish fans in Sweden ahead of the contest’s grand final tomorrow night.

Bambie Thug will take to the stage, marking Ireland’s first time in the final since 2018.

There will also be musical performances from Chasing Abbey as well as D:ream, who took to social media to ask fans to cast their votes on what song they think they should perform tonight.

Since Kielty took over the presenter role of the Late Late Show, viewership figures for the programme have increased.

RTÉ figures revealed that on average 45,000 more viewers tuned in for Kielty’s first season of the chat show than for Ryan Tubridy’s final season.

However, Late Late Show episodes are now 30 minutes shorter and now finish just after 11pm, while there are also fewer episodes in this new season in comparison with previous seasons of the show hosted by Tubridy.
