A young man found “choking” another man on the ground outside a pub became abusive to investigating gardaí and called them “rats”, a court heard.

Devon Hanney (22) maintained he had been restraining a friend who had attacked him at the time of the altercation in Dublin city centre. Judge Treasa Kelly adjourned the case at Dublin District Court for finalisation on a later date.
