Man (20s) killed in scrambler bike crash in Dublin

A man in his 20s has been killed after the scrambler bike he was driving crashed in north Dublin this afternoon.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on the Phibblestown Road, Castaheaney, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15.

“Gardaí attended the scene of a fatal single vehicle road traffic collision involving a scrambler bike that occurred at approximately 2.10pm earlier today,” a garda spokesperson said.

“The driver of the scrambler bike, a male in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

"The road was closed for a time and a technical examination was conducted by Forensic Collision Investigators. It has since re-opened.”

Gardaí said they are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Phibblestown Road area of Dublin 15 between 1.45pm and 2.15pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
