Two men were rushed to Wexford General Hospital by ambulance following a three car pile-up outside of Wexford town this evening.

The collision took place in rush hour traffic shortly after 5 p.m. this evening on the main N25 between the Duncannon Road (Whitford) roundabout and the New Ross Road (Maldron) roundabout.

The incident drew a rapid response from the National Ambulance Service, Wexford Fire Service and An Garda Síochána, who did their best to keep traffic flowing, although it was reduced to one lane until the scene was cleared.

Two men, believed to be aged in their 30s, were taken to Wexford General Hospital, however, their injuries are understood to be relatively minor and they are expected to make a full recovery.

Wexford Gardaí asked for the patience of motorists while the scene is cleared and they estimated this would be completed by 6.30 p.m.
