Jamie Carragher enjoyed himself a little too much at Borussia Dortmund's Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain, but it didn’t stop him conducting a post-match interview with Jadon Sancho.

Liverpool legend Carragher revealed he had “about eight pints” as he spent the night with Dortmund fans in their famous ‘Yellow Wall’, the famous stand that houses the club’s most vocal supporters at the Westfalenstadion home.

Niclas Fullkrug’s stunning finish gave Borussia Dortmund a 1-0 edge after the first leg of their Champions League semi-final against PSG.

Fullkrug pounced in the 35th minute, but an end-to-end clash at Signal Iduna Park could have been snatched by either team, with chances arriving thick and fast in a furious second half.

Sancho, on loan from Manchester United, was the most dangerous player on the pitch and he gave left-back Nuno Mendes a torrid time while creating a host of Dortmund’s opportunities.

Yet it quickly became clear that the England star was in for an unusual interview when he spoke to Carragher and former Manchester United keeper Peter Schmeichel in their role as reporters for American network, CBS Sports.

Carragher informed Sancho that his night being in the ‘Yellow Wall’ was “one of the best experiences of my life”, before he conducted an interview that brought howls of laughter from former Manchester City defender Micah Richards in the CBS studio.

Sancho was guarded about his future with parent club Manchester United but was gushing in his admiration for Dortmund.

"I came here when I was 17 and they gave me the opportunity to play professional football,” said Sancho of the German club. “I’m delighted with all the staff and players and I always give everything in front of the fans.”

Sancho had a very public fall-out with United manager Erik ten Hag and refused to make a public apology for a social media post that infuriated his Dutch coach.

Ten Hag is widely expected to leave his role as United manager this summer and that could open the door for Sancho to return to Old Trafford, but his impressive form since his return to Dortmund suggests the German club may be a better option for his career.
