It will be a cloudy, wet day as rain continues into the afternoon, with the coming days seeing mild temperatures but similarly damp conditions, Met Éireann has forecast.

Rain will linger in the west and south throughout the day and may turn heavy at times.

Highest temperatures of 8 to 13 degrees are expected, dropping to lows of 5 to 8 degrees overnight when rain will become patchy and the north will see largely dry conditions.

Friday will be cloudy and dull with outbreaks of rain, drizzle and more persistent falls for a period during the afternoon.

Met Éireann forecasts “limited sunny spells” tomorrow, when temperatures will likely reach highs between 11 to 15 degrees before lows of 7 to 11 degrees overnight.

Saturday will follow a similar pattern of cloudy, damp weather with rain and drizzle falling throughout the morning.

However, some brighter spells will develop in the afternoon with highs of 12 to 15 degrees expected during the day and lows hitting between 5 to 8 degrees overnight.

It will become mostly dry of the night ahead of a cloudy, rainy start to Sunday.

Met Éireann says current indications would suggest another unsettled day with cloud, outbreaks of rain and temperatures in the mid-teens.
