Genotyping funds boost ICBF’s income by €8m as CEO says lessons were learned from beef index ‘furor’
The Irish Cattle Breeding Federation’s (ICBF) income surged to €23.8m for 2023, up from €15.3m in 2022, due an increase in income from Brexit Adjustment Reserve funding received as part of the National Genotyping Programme.
As a not-for-profit entity, ICBF’s goal annually is to break even as it aims for a 2pc margin of income to ensure this. In 2023, this margin was 1.7pc (€428,000).
