You want to retire and you have no obvious farm successor – what are your options?

Most farmers are reluctant to sell completely – and there are plenty of possible solutions

I am seeing more and more situations where there is no successor willing to take on the family farm business. In many cases it is not because there are no children, it is because there are no children willing to engage in active farming because they don’t see farming as a sustainable lifestyle, be it part-time or full-time.

Most farmers are keen to see the farm business continue for their lifetimes and hopefully into the next generation.
