Bank of Ireland customers reported a number of issues when trying to access their online banking accounts earlier this afternoon.

Users experienced technical difficulties and were unable to access the mobile app or 365 Online.

The issue has since been resolved, in a statement, Bank of Ireland said: “Services are now running normally on our mobile app and 365 Online. We’re sorry for the inconvenience this evening.”

When users opened the app, a message appeared on the screen against a white backdrop which read: “No connectivity. Please verify you have cellular network or wifi connection.”

Once the user pressed “ok”, they were presented with a plain white screen and no other text.

In a statement online earlier today, Bank of Ireland said: “We are aware that customers cannot access our Mobile app and 365 Online at the moment. We are working to fix this as soon as possible and we apologise for any inconvenience.”

Some users reported issues using debit cards and others asked when the issue would be resolved.

A user on X said: “I would like my 6 euro monthly fee reimbursed to me this month, please. Seriously, you can't expect anyone to be paying you 6 euro a month fee for such a poor unreliable service.”

While another said: “Why are we paying a monthly service fee when the app is constantly going down? Customers should have their fee reimbursed every month that a problem occurs as this is too often now. Totally unacceptable. We have bills to pay.”

A third user said: “Can’t use debit card. Need to pay for a meal. And can’t transfer from savings. What the hell is going on?”
