Majority of sexual assault victims knew their suspected offender, new data shows

Four in five victims of sexual offences last year were female, while nearly half were younger than 18, new data on crime victims in Ireland has shown.

The Central Statistics Office (CSO) has released information on recorded crime victims last year and suspected offenders in 2022, based on data ­collected by An Garda Síochána on the Pulse system.
