Two hospitalised with serious injuries following collision in Kerry

Two people have been hospitalised with serious injuries following a collision in Killorglin, Co Kerry yesterday afternoon.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a two vehicle collision involving a van and an SUV on the N70 at Tullig Beg, Killorglin, Co. Kerry, shortly after 3.15 pm on Friday.

The drivers of both vehicles, a woman in her 50s and a man in his 30s, were airlifted from the scene to Cork University Hospital.

Their injuries are described as serious.

The scene was examined by Garda Forensic Collision investigators, and the road has since fully reopened to traffic.

"Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident to contact them,” a garda spokesperson said.

"Those with video footage, including dashcam, from the area at the time are asked to make it available to investigating gardaí.
