Two men due to appear in court over €2.4m cannabis seizure in Co Meath

Two men arrested following the seizure of herbal cannabis worth €2.4m in Co Meath are due to appear in court later today.

The seizure of 120kgs of herbal cannabis was discovered following searches by gardaí and Revenue officers on Tuesday.

Two men, both in their 50s, were arrested in the intelligence led operation carried out by the Revenue’s Customs Service and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB).

A garda spokesman has confirmed the men have now both been charged and will appear before the court later this morning.

"The two men (50s) arrested in connection with the €2.4 million cannabis seizure in Co. Meath on the 23rd April 2024, have been charged.

“They are due to appear before Navan District Court this morning, Friday 26th April 2024,” he said.
