The family of George Nkencho have pledged their “fight for justice will continue”, in the aftermath of the decision by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) not to prosecute any garda in connection with his fatal shooting.

It emerged on Wednesday that the state prosecutor directed that no garda has a criminal case to answer over the fatal shooting of the 27-year-old in December 2020 — who, at the time of his shooting, was brandishing a knife and threatening gardaí.
