When it comes to the spending performance of ministers Paschal Donohoe and Michael McGrath, things seem to be sliding more than a little.

Corporate tax gains are providing punch for the spending party. Current expenditure is ratcheting up, partially on the back of surplus corporate tax receipts, but also on the need to hire more public servants as the population grows.
