It’s that time of year again when hundreds, if not thousands, of people from all across Kerry leave the cosy comforts of their beds in the early hours of the morning to take part in one of the biggest and longest-running fundraising campaigns in the country, the annual ‘Darkness into Light’ walks.

This year’s walks are taking place this coming Saturday May 11 in 10 different locations all across the county and we have compiled the when and where for you so that you don’t miss out on the Pieta House fundraiser.

Of these, Nathan’s Walk – the name given to Killarney’s Darkness Into Light walk – is is the longest-running DIL event outside of Dublin and is usually one of the largest in the country. It is held in remembrance of a local boy, Nathan O’Carroll, Ross Road, who died by suicide in 2007 when he was aged just 14.

Make sure you register online at www.darknessintolight.ie (then click Kerry and follow the steps).
