Kilkenny Mum who completed Leaving Cert at 39 urges others to ‘take the first step’

Lisa Banks is now an advocate for the National Adult Literacy Agency (NALA) where she uses her story to inspire others to return to education later in life

At just 14 years of age, Co Kilkenny woman Lisa Banks dropped out of school with low literacy levels, no confidence and no Leaving Cert.

But armed with determination, Lisa decided to return to education as an adult and 25 years after dropping out of school got her Leaving Cert at age 39.
