Leinster GAA chairman Derek Kent hasn’t had the most enlightened of months. From telling all in sundry that the provincial championship was “alive and kicking” before the action got underway to charging patrons €40 at the gate and children €8.

The cost for a family of four to go to Sunday’s decider is €96 on tickets alone. Factor in the fuel or transport fees, the need to eat and miscellaneous expenditure and you’re likely in the region of €250.
