Duleek and Ardee Celtic were involved in a highly entertaining game on Monday night at Townparks as Duleek came from behind to claim a 3-1 win.

Ardee Celic came into the game looking for their second win of the season after back-to-back defeats and they had the perfect start. Ashlyn Ryan provided a through ball for Nicole Bray who opened the scoring on 19 minutes.

Both sides continued to carve openings, but as half-time came into view Shauna Leech played Leanne Gaughran in and she powered a shot past Lisa Reynolds for the equaliser.

It was Gaughran’s fourth goal in five games as Duleek continue without the services of the prolific Megan De Souza.

Gaughran would turn provider in the second half for the first of two Molly Brodigan goals as the visitors hit the front, Duleek sealing the win late on as Ardee were pushing for an equaliser.

In the Women’s Premier Division, Albion Rovers earned their first win of the season in a thrilling five-goal game against Kentstown Rovers on Monday night in Monasterboice.

The hosts hit the front on 17 minutes thanks to a sublime solo effort from Katie Callan, but Kentstown levelled just three minutes later as the teams went into the break at 1-1.

Two goals in the space of three minutes put Albion firmly in the driving seat. On 57 Callan again had the ball in the net, and then right on the hour mark Albion capitalised on their dominance, with Katie Newman scoring.

Kentstown pulled one back from the penalty spot on 82 minutes, but Albion held out for a well-deserved win.
