Blackbull’s decent start to the season continued on Thursday night as they battled out a 1-1 draw away to Enfield Celtic.

Ken Wall’s team have taken seven points from their opening five games and are sitting just outside the promotion spots.

Indeed they looked to have taken all three points when Conor Loughran hit the back of the net on 86 minutes, but Enfield struck back late in injury time to secure a share of the spoils.

In a very physical first half Black Bull kept a clean sheet into the half-time break, with Sean Manyara enjoying a quiet time between the sticks. But as the game wore on gaps began to open up and Blackbull struck late on, having missed several chances beforehand.

That joy proved to be short-lived, though, as Enfield struck back to see the game end level.

Meanwhile, Manny Smith’s Termonfeckin Celtic side are beginning to find form after a slow start to the season and two second-half goals for the seasiders saw them defeat hosts Bailieboro Celtic 2-1 and make it three games unbeaten from their opening four fixtures.

The Cavan side hit the front on 19 minutes through Conor Noone and that’s how it remained heading into half-time, but Smith made two changes early in the second half and they paid dividends.

On 55 minutes Aaron Walsh scored the equaliser after sustained pressure and their chances of snatching a winner were boosted when the hosts were reduced to 10 men early in the final quarter.

Then with 13 minutes remaining Donal Carr finished a well-worked move to seal all three points.

Termonfeckin had chances to further increase their lead, but they will be happy with their progress so far.
