Kilrush Drama Group

Congratulations and well done to Kilrush Drama Group on winning the All Ireland final in Mountmellick on Saturday night, to Niall McGrath for best director and the best stage management, brilliant performances well done to all involved.

Kilrush Drama Group present ‘Matchmakers’ - Kilrush Drama Group will once again be performing the popular one act play ‘Matchmakers’ by Seamus O’Brien in The Bowling Hall, Carnew Community Care on Wednesday 1st May at 7pm. The play is directed by Amanda O’Keeffe and features Willy Murphy, Eileen McCabe, Fergus Garrett, Mary Doran, Clodagh Kenny and Luke Burke.

Kilrush Askamore GAA Lotto

There was no winner for last week’s lotto jackpot. The numbers were: 1.17.29.30. Lucky dip winners were: James Lancaster; Maurice O’Connor; Paddy Nolan, Drummond; Ger Bolger. Seller’s Prize: Codd’s Kilrush. Jackpot is now €10,500. The next draw will take place on Tuesday 7th May at 10pm in Kilrush/Askamore GAA Grounds, Ballyroebuck. Tickets can be purchased from any club member, in Jim Byrne’s, Codd’s Kilrush and Coleman’s Tombrack. Members of the public are always welcome to attend the GAA draws.

Ballycanew Tidy Towns

Many thanks to both the CE Scheme lads and our many volunteers that have helped paint,weed,mow and sweep over the last few weeks.

Colour is coming! Summer is coming and the Tidy Towns Judges are too..

If you can give a hand for 1 hour per week, please get in touch. Without your help and support BallycanewTidy Towns will not exist.

The Tidy Towns committee have kindly organised a Return Scheme bin to help reduce waste in the village and encourage the pupils to think more sustainably. You can now recycle any plastic bottles or cans with the RETURN logo in our new recycling bins , these bins are located in the school grounds. We will collect and return the cans and bottles, and the pupils will decide how to use the refund money they collect!

Ballygarrett Tidy towns

We need your help! North Wexford 2K Clean is coming to an end. We need to give the roads one last clean as it comes to an end as May approaches.

Unfortunately many of the roads which have been cleaned twice since we started this campaign in March are no longer litter free. One last push this weekend.

Roads entered are as follows: 1. Ballygarrett to Cahore pier; 2. Ballygarrett to Molly Kehoes Corner; 3. Ballygarrett to Doyle’s Garage; 4. Pegs bar to Killenagh; 5. Ballygarrett to Ballyoughna crossroads; 6. Clonevin to Old Bawn Beach; 7. Glasscarrig road and beach; 8. Clonevin to Bruce crossroads; 9. Clonganny to Ballinastud road.

All residents in the wider community are asked to clean 200m each side of their home.

The Tinahely Craft market is situated in the middle of the village opposite the butchers shop. We have an amazing array of locally made crafts - using locally sourced materials as much as possible.

The crafts include embroidered cards, junk journals & tallow creams, beaded jewellery, artworks, up & recycled textiles, candles and fab woodwork.

Our opening hours are Thursday, Friday & Saturday from 10am to 4pm.

Unfortunately this Thursday Friday 2nd and 3rd May we will be closed.
