The HSE recently issued an apology to Fiadh O’Connor’s family from Co. Wexford and Danny Norris’s family from Co. Waterford following their failure to provide end of life services to these families during their most difficult time.

Eilish Begley, mother of Matthew, who is the first baby to receive palliative care in Wexford is very grateful to Fiadh O’Connor’s family as it allowed her to bring her son home from hospital when he was two weeks old. “For Matthew, we had the opportunity to come because the service was there. We didn’t have to fight for anything because Fiadh’s family had done that on our behalf,” said Eilish.
