The €500m Greenlink project in south west Wexford has taken a major step forward with cable being pulled from Baginbun undersea to connect half way with cable being pulled from Wales.

The cable pull in at Baginbun commenced at 3 p.m. on Saturday and finished about 11.30 p.m. Cable laying vessel Connector brought cables from the transition joint bay at the landfall site behind Baginbun beach. “The joint bay will be covered up and the land restored to the condition it was in before the work started. Nothing will be visible once complete,” said Greenlink Chief Executive James O’Reilly.
