A Gavin O’Brien penalty deep in injury-time earned Gorey Rangers a dramatic 4-3 victory against Crossabeg AFC at Altura Credit Union Park on Saturday evening.

Seán Murphy put the champions ahead in the 18th minute, but Brandon Sinnott cancelled that goal out just four minutes later.

Paul Brennan restored the Rangers’ advantage on the stroke of half-time, and he grabbed his second eight minutes after the interval to make it 3-1.

The visitors rallied and they were right back in it through an own goal just past the hour mark, and looked to have rescued a point when Aaron Lambert equalised in the 92nd minute.

Gorey had other ideas, however, and O’Brien kept his cool from the spot to move them to within one point of leaders North End United.

The Sky Blues overcame local rivals Wexford Bohemians 3-0 at ‘The Brute’ Walsh Park on Wednesday evening.

Shane Dempsey opened the scoring for North End shortly before the hour mark, Eoin Rhodes doubled their tally in the 65th minute, and Paul ‘Spot’ Murphy put the icing on the cake late on.

Gorey Rangers netted a magnificent seven without reply against Shamrock Rovers in Peter Quinn Park on the same evening.

Ryan Cullen, Seán Murphy, Mick Molloy, Adam Territt, Dylan Vickers, Luke Greene and Paul Brennan all hit the back of the net for the FAI Junior Cup finalists.

Philip Dempsey netted a 74th-minute winner for Forth Celtic as they edged out relegation-threatened Campile United 3-2 at Matt Ennis Park.

Jason Ellard gave the hosts an early lead and Ryan Busher doubled their advantage on the stroke of half-time. However, they were pegged back to 2-2 within ten minutes of the restart, with Mark O’Leary halving the deficit and an own goal restoring parity.

Bunclody got an important three points on the board with a 4-0 triumph against bottom side Ajax Athletic at Patrick Mernagh Park.

Stephen Kavanagh scored the opener in the sixth minute, and Joseph Gordon doubled their tally in first-half injury-time. Gordon grabbed his second in the 64th minute before Ciarán Scott added a fourth goal late on.
