Wexford council engineer accused of being ‘blasé’ as hopes for car park at idyllic beach location evaporate

The revelation that a landowner in south Wexford is not willing to sell their land to the local council for the development of a carpark caused tempers to flare at the April meeting of the Rosslare Municipal District (RMD). Having previously notified councillors that he had “done the design and got an estimate of costs” but was waiting to reach agreement with the landowner, engineer Gerry Forde returned with some bad news regarding the potential development at St Margaret’s beach near Rosslare.
