The Arklow-based ASL Safety & Training Group has proudly announced the addition of a new training site in Belfast Harbour.

The training site will be located at Ridgeway head office, in the heart of Belfast Harbour, which has a long-established strategic location adjacent to the D1 offshore wind assembly site that is run by the Doyle Shipping Group.

Ridgeway’s access and safety store offers a state-of-the-art facility for stocked sales and display of leading height and PPE safety brands, as well as excellent training suites and dedicated working at height training apparatus.

Following discussions over recent months with Stephen Kane of Ridgeway & Ridgeway Rock Bags, ASL was delighted to be able to announce the location as a Global Wind Organisation Training centre.

ASL will initially provide Global Wind Organisation Training on demand for their clients in that area, with scheduled courses being added as they develop their team and build a client base in the region.

Following the announcement Mark Corcoran, Managing Director of ASL Group said: “We are delighted to have secured this training location at Ridgeway in Belfast, and we look forward to building this into another strong part of our business by bringing the services the on and offshore wind clients need as close to their operations as we can get.

“With strong transport links, being so close to the airport and ferries and with very strong growth in this sector projected in the coming years, we hope to continue to build strong partnerships and collaborations that can support this sector.

“A huge thanks to Sean McCready from Doyle Shipping Group for his encouragement and making the introductions that have helped make this happen. Watch out for further strategic announcements in the coming weeks.”
