St Patrick’s Church Dalkey

This Saturday the St Patrick’s Parish summer Fête and Dog Show will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the grounds of St Patrick’s Church. There will be food stalls, clothes, games, toys, gifts, cakes, plants, bric-à-brac, bouncy castle, lunches, books, ice creams, dog show and much much more.

Masses: Weekday Masses are celebrated Monday to Friday at 10 a.m., and on Saturday at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. (Vigil). Sunday Masses are celebrated at 10 a.m., midday, and 6 p.m. On Holy Days of Obligation the Vigil Mass is celebrated at 7.30 p.m. the previous evening and on the Holy Day at 10 a.m.,12Noon, and 7.30 p.m. All Masses are available online through the link ‘Watch Us Live’.

Saturday Vigil Mass: The Saturday evening Vigil Mass is celebrated at 5 p.m. We are alwayslooking for musicians and singers for this Mass. If you are interested please leave your details with the parish office in person, or call 01 2822277.

Cemetery Sunday: This year’s annual Remembrance Mass and blessing of graves will take place in Shanganagh Cemetery at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, The Parish Pilgrimage to the Knock Shrine: This will take place on the feast of Our Lady, Queen of Apostles, on Saturday, May 18, The trip will cost €30 per adult, €20 per child and there will be a stop on the journey for tea and scones included in the price. Parish Book Club: Sr. Una Agnew has written a book called ‘The Mystical Imagination of Patrick Kavanagh: A Buttonhole in Heaven?’ The parish is proposing that Sr. Una will come in and meet with us, to give a lecture on the book, which we will then read together to form a Book Club. Children’s Liturgy Team: The Children’s Liturgy Team is looking for young volunteers to take part in the 10 a.m. Sunday Family Mass. Children will be helping with the readings and the Offertory Procession. If you would like your child to take part please leave your details with the St Anne’s parish office or meet one of the team after Sunday 10 a.m. MassAll-Ireland Rosary Rally – Knock – June 1: The all-Ireland Rosary Rally is back this year on Saturday, June 1, in Knock. The day begins with a Marian Conference at 9.30 a.m. in St John’s Centre. Bishop Phonsie Cullinan will be the Main Celebrant of the 3 p.m. Mass, which will include Anointing of the sick. Confessions are available throughout the day, and there will be rosary and scapular-making workshops in the marquee.

Opening hours are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays; and 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, open on alternate Fridays and Saturdays the library will be open this Friday but closed on Saturday, re-opening as normal at 10 a.m. next Monday. First Saturday Book Sale

The June First Saturday Book Sale, which supports the Shankill Old Folks Association, will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, in the Shankill Day Centre, Lower Road, Shankill, and all are welcome to attend. This will be an excellent opportunity to obtain some first class reading material for the summer months. Donations of books are appreciated but must be in a clean and good condition, are limited to two shopping bags per donor, and will be gratefully accepted only on the day of the book sale.

AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) Meetings in Shankill

Alcoholics Anonymous hosts meetings in St James’ Crinken Church Hall every Monday evening at 8.30 p.m. and in St Anne’s Resource Centre every Sunday at 8.30 p.m. Doors open around 8.15 p.m.

Shankill Bridge Club

Shankill Bowling Club

Shankill Bowling Club will hold an open bowling weekend when we invite all interested in learning the game to get in touch or drop by and give it a try, from 2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. this Saturday and from 1.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. next Sunday. Drop by our facilities on Quinn’s Road and have a try as you will be made most welcome. Please wear flat soled shoes or runners as the club will provide the rest. Hope to see you then. Shankill Community Darkness into Light 2024.

Takes place this Saturday starting at 4.15 a.m. from St Anne’s Resource Centre and making its way to Killiney Hill and then back to Barts (Brady’s of Shankill). Register with: darknessintolight.ie. Alternatively there will be a shorter route to Shanganagh Cliffs avoiding Killiney Hill if this is too challenging. Meeting at St Anne’s Resource Centre at 4.15 a.m. on Saturday morning.
