ICA Delgany Guild held its annual Alzheimer’s Tea Morning in Kilian’s Family Hall, Greystones on Friday, May 3, where close to €3,000 was raised.
The team behind the event said the morning was very well attended, and “apart from being financially successful, it was also a great social morning where tea/coffee and delicious treats were served”.
“Apart from the generous donations made by those attending the morning, we had bric-a-brac and craft stands which were well received; we held a bumper raffle and an auction, all of which certainly helped raise an extraordinary amount in excess of €2,900.00 for the Alzheimer’s Society which was lodged direct to their bank account on the day.
“We are very grateful to all the businesses and individuals who supported us by donating prizes, but especially to the good people who came along and supported this very necessary cause,” they added.
Also in attendance was Independent local election candidate, Orla Finn, who remarked how the Guild “has been in our community for over 84 years now and supports community based initiatives”.
“I was delighted to meet with their President, Ann Connolly to hear about everything that they do,” she said.
