Shane Fenelon was amongst the winners on the second day of the Killarney May Festival with A Mere Bagatelle taking the two-mile four-furlong handicap chase for Shark Hanlon.

Owned by Alan Cullen, the well backed 7/1 chance survived a mistake at the last to run out an easy five-length winner.

Tinahely trainer Philip Rothwell sent out his first winner of the new season when Woodstream Lad landed the two-mile handicap hurdle at Clonmel on Thursday evening.

Owned by John Leckey, the 9/2 chance led two out under Carnew based jockey Phidelma Elvin before keeping on to score by a length-and-a-half.

Rothwell wasted no time registering a second winner of the campaign with Plain Or Battered taking the three-mile handicap hurdle at Wexford on Saturday.

Ridden by stable conditional Conor Owens, the 5/1 chance won by three-quarters-of-a-length for owners David Norris, Fergal Norris and Noel Dooly.
