‘We need to show we’re still up there’ – Irish rugby fans descend on Marseille ahead of Six Nations opener with France
Up to 10,000 Ireland supporters will attend be at Stade Velodrome tonight and they’ll be hoping there’s no World Cup hangover
Maybe it was stretching it to think the new setting of Marseille for an Ireland Six Nations game against France would come replete with a clean slate for those Irish supporters who arrived at the coastal city yesterday, before tonight’s opening game of the championship.
The IRFU estimates that between 7,000 and 10,000 Irish supporters will be at the cosy 67,000-seater Stade Velodrome for tonight’s occasion, which kicks off at 8pm Irish time.
