‘He’s clinging on, holed up in Downing Street’ – Lib Dems try to push Sunak into election with no-confidence vote
UK prime minister had said he wouldn’t be going to the polls until second half of the year
The Liberal Democrats will try to force Rishi Sunak into calling a June general election by tabling a motion of no confidence in the UK government today.
The party’s leader Ed Davey will table the motion as soon as parliament returns after a brutal set of local elections for the Conservatives.
