Russians advance on eastern villages as Ukrainian troops forced to retreat
Kyiv’s troops have been forced back amid intense fighting in eastern Ukraine as Vladimir Putin’s soldiers advanced along the frontline.
Oleksandr Syrskyi, commander-in-chief of Ukraine’s armed forces, said troops had retreated from three villages to new positions west of Berdychi and Semenivka, both north of Avdiivka.
