Three men to appear in court after €300k worth of cannabis seized in Limerick

Three men who were arrested after gardaí seized €300,000 worth of cannabis in Limerick have been charged and are due before the courts this afternoon.

The three men, aged in their 30s, 40s and 60s, were arrested at the scene on Clare Street, Limerick City yesterday

“Three individuals now have been charged in connection with this investigation,” gardaí said.

“All three are scheduled to appear before a sitting of Limerick District Court at 1.30pm today.”

A fourth person who was arrested, a man in his 60s, remains detained under Section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking ) Act 1996 at a garda station in the Limerick division.

The searches were carried out by Limerick Divisional Drug Unit, supported by members of the Regional Armed Support Unit.

In an earlier statement, gardaí said that cash totalling approximately €10,000 as well as 30 cannabis plants and approximately 15 kilos of cannabis, with a combined total estimated value of €300,000 was seized.

The drugs were to be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for further analysis.
