A total of €681,000 in funding has been allocated to Kerry Airport under the Regional Airports Programme 2021-2025.

The allocation contributes towards capital investment in safety and security at airports, while also supporting projects with a sustainability focus.

Welcoming the announcement, Minister for Education Norma Foley said she is pleased to receive confirmation from party colleague, Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Jack Chambers T.D, that significant funding has been given the green light for Kerry Airport.

“This investment is wholeheartedly welcome. Kerry Airport plays a crucial role in the southwest supporting vital connectivity, economic development and tourism to the region,” said Minister Foley.

"The funding is consistent with the Programme for Government pledge to deliver capital programmes required to support services and ensure safety at our regional airports," she added.
