The 'Lightening up our everyday learning spaces' art exhibition as part of the AONTAS Adult Learner Festival took place in the Gorey Institute of Further Learning and Training Centre on Thursday, March 7.

Lanterns were displayed at the art exhibition which the group completed in class over the course of seven weeks with artist Caoimhe Dunne.

“The group of learners wouldn’t have known each other beforehand but they signed up when it was advertised and it was really successful and they really enjoyed so it was a real celebration of community education and the power that it has,” said Community Education Facilitator Yvonne O'Connor.

Celebrating everyday learning spaces was the theme of AONTAS festival. The course was funded through community education and the WWETB in collaboration with the Family Resource Centre.

This class is now finished but the Gorey Family Resource Centre will be running many more community education programmes throughout the year.
