The Wexford Minor hurling mentors have named six players with experience from last year’s campaign on the team to play Dublin in their Leinster championship Tier 1 opener in Parnell Park on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Goalkeeper Paddy Quigley, centre-back Jack Nolan, midfielders Seán Hyland and Jack Gethings, plus forwards Colin Carley and team captain Jack Dunne were all involved in the 2023 semi-final defeat to Kilkenny by 1-18 to 0-17.

Wing-forward Conor Fanning and substitutes Ben Harpur and Bobby Murphy were also members of last year’s squad.

Two dual players are included – full-back Eoin Hughes and corner-forward Darren Rossiter – and they are in the midst of a busy schedule as the Minor footballers will travel to Ashbourne next Wednesday to take on Meath in the Leinster preliminary quarter-final.

The Minor hurlers are the last of the county teams to begin their campaign, and they will be hosting Kilkenny on April 27 and Galway on May 4, with the latter game a curtain-raiser to the Senior hurling clash between the same counties.

The top two in the four-team group will qualify directly for the semi-finals, with the third- and fourth-placed sides entering the knockout phase at the quarter-final stage against Tier 2 opposition on May 11.
