Sherry Fitzgerald Greystones has introduced its ‘Dog of the Month’ competition to support Milo's Mission Rescue, the charity based in Newtownmountkennedy that helps rehome vulnerable dogs and cats.

To enter your pet, you can donate €2 and submit your furry friend's photo and name via email. By entering, you're directly contributing to the care and protection of animals in need. Every donation helps the team at Milo’s rehabilitate and re-home dogs and cats.

Plus, the winning dog will serve as an ambassador for the entire month, spreading awareness about the importance of ‘Adopt don't Shop’.

By choosing adoption, you're giving a deserving pet like Lilo a second chance at happiness and a loving home.

Lilo is a petite 18-month-old French Bulldog looking for her forever home. She has been in foster care for the last four weeks to help her gain confidence with people and handling.

Milo’s said that Lilo has “really come out of her shell” and is ready to find a loving family to join.

Lilo is described as “not your typical Frenchie”, and she has spent a lot of time on her own and so is an “independent little girl who does not like overhandling.”

She has no ongoing health or dietary needs but a home with bulldog experience would be ideal due to the usual issues that can occur with Frenchies.

"She prefers the company of other dogs to humans so a home with dogs to keep her company is preferable,” the charity added. “She is living with two medium-sized dogs in foster. She is a brilliant group player in the dog park and loves to be chased by bigger dogs. She can get a little over-excited and mouthy with humans but is great at listening and is still learning.

“Once given the space to get to know you, Lilo is a little pocket rocket, full of fun who will not leave your side. She loves a cuddle under the duvet with you. She is a very clever, sweet and gentle little girl.”

Milo’s Mission Rescue was set up in 2018 to help dogs and cats that were unwanted and abandoned in Ireland. To email a photo of your pet, send to: greystones@sherryfitz.ie and you can donate your €2 (or more) directly at Gofundme ‘Dog of the Month in aid of Milo's Mission Rescue’.
