Five-star St. Anthony’s too strong for Glencormac United

Premier Division

St. Anthony’s hold a five-point advantage at the top of the Premier Division following a 5-0 triumph over Glencormac at Ryder’s Field on Wednesday evening.

Tom Fitzsimons, Shane Doyle, Matthew Kennedy, Tony Harris and Ronan O’Kelly all hit the back of the net for the leaders.

Second-placed St. Peter’s kept up the pressure with a 5-2 win against Wicklow Rovers ‘A’ in Fassaroe on the same evening.

Lewi O’Neill helped himself to a hat-trick, while Darren Lacey and Dylan Fitzpatrick chipped in with a goal apiece, with Davy O’Sullivan and Lorcan Sinnott replying for Rovers.

Shamrock Celtic secured a 5-1 midweek success over Newtown United ‘A’ at Matt Kelly Community Grounds.

Luca Rampersaud (two), Andrew Earls, Robert Talaga and Jensen O’Connor Cox scored for the visitors, with Dillon Carthy netting for the Magpies.

Arklow Town ‘A’ earned a 2-0 away win against Glencormac United on Sunday. Conor Smith opened the scoring in the first half, and Calem Devereux doubled their tally after the interval.

Division 1

A Cillian Gilligan hat-trick helped Carnew ‘A’ hold on to top spot in Division 1 as they saw off Ashford Rovers ‘B’ 4-0 in Ballinalea Park on Wednesday.

Cillian MacDonald got the other goal for the pacesetters.

Greystones are one point behind in second, having received a walkover from Arklow Celtic.

Division 3

Mark ‘Yeboah’ Doyle bagged a hat-trick for Rathnew ‘B’ as they continued their perfect campaign with a 5-1 win over Arklow Town ‘C’ at Travers Insurances Park on Thursday.

Ross Quinn and Kristian Kearney got the other goals for the leaders as they made it 12 wins from 12, with Adam Kenny replying for the hosts.

A Mark O’Reilly double helped Avonmore ‘B’ to a 3-0 win over Roundwood in Vartry Park, with Andrew Nolan also getting on the scoresheet.

Meanwhile, Ballywaltrim were handed a walkover from Carnew ‘B’.

Youths Division

Third-placed Arklow United hit Coolboy Rangers for six goals without reply at Arklow Credit Union Park on Sunday.

Mikey Fortune contributed a hat-trick, while Aaron Geraghty, Luke Murray and Dylan Lynch added one apiece.

Conor Wilson bagged a treble for Aughrim Rangers in their 8-2 win over Glencormac United at Allen Park. Paddy Flynn Horan and Adam Lifely added doubles, while Eoin O’Connor also got on the scoresheet.

Jim McLaughlin Cup

St. Anthony’s marched on in the Jim McLaughlin Cup with a 4-2 triumph against Avonmore ‘A’ in Ballygannon on Sunday.

Ronan O’Kelly (two), Cian Davis and Lewis Stokes scored for the Premier Division pacesetters, with Eugene Dunne and Saoirse Kearon netting for the hosts.

A Brian Cornyn goal was enough for Ashford Rovers ‘A’ to get past Newtown United ‘A’ at Matt Kelly Community Grounds on Monday evening, while St. Peter’s edged out Shamrock Celtic 2-1 (see focus match).

Thomas Scott Cup

Carnew ‘A’ booked their place in the final four of the Thomas Scott Cup with a 4-0 win over Arklow Town ‘B’ in the Back Alley on Monday evening.

Cillian Gilligan, Curtis Keating, Cillian MacDonald and John Kavanagh all hit the back of the net for the hosts.

Greystones United received a walkover from Rathnew ‘A’, while Arklow Celtic saw off Newtown United B 5-1 (see focus match).

Charlie Byrne Cup

Mark ‘Yeboah’ Doyle was at it again on Sunday, netting another hat-trick as Rathnew ‘B’ overcame Wicklow Rovers ‘C’ in their Charlie Byrne Cup meeting in Shamrock Park.

Ross Quinn and Edward Doyle got the other goals for the villagers.

Finn Murphy, David Murphy and David Kavanagh netted for Roundwood in their 3-1 win over Carnew ‘B’ at the Back Alley on Sunday, with JJ McCrea replying.

Avonmore ‘B’ won 3-2 away to Ballywaltrim on Monday evening, with Christian Rodriguez, Alex Olohan and Andrew Nolan scoring for the winners, and Lee Hempenstall and Luke Connolly hitting the back of the net for the hosts.
