Sarah Lavin made a flying start to her season by finishing fifth at the Diamond League in Doha on Friday evening, the 29-year-old Limerick athlete clocking 12.73.

Lavin had never opened her season with a sub-13 time before and the run was the sixth-quickest time of her career, bringing her home behind Swiss winner Ditaji Kambundji (12.49).
