Arklow councillors hope to address the parking issues plaguing their town's shoppers and business owners by instigating a county-wide review of Wicklow’s car parking by-laws.

Proposed by Councillor Peir Leonard at the April MD meeting, her motion sought to tackle the dearth of parking space available in Arklow, particularly on Main Street, that has left residents parking further away from their favourite stores and traders facing reduced footfall and the threat of fines while unloading their goods.
